Mi&u is designed for those who want to learn a language through dialogue and encounter with native speakers. 

The game requires speakers of both languages.

The level of play is determined by players' knowledge of the other language.

Description

Each card contains one letter in each  language, for example  A on one side and  ا   on the other.

Every card is marked with its score value and every language is in a different color, so that the board can contain words in both languages.

Beginning

Shuffle cards well and deal 14 cards to each player (with 5 players or more, deal 8 cards per player)

Once the cards are dealt players have 60 seconds to form a word, the player who has formed the word with the highest score value begins, and the game continues in clockwise order.

Goal

To create words in both languages and achieve the highest score.

Rules

English must be written from left to right and Arabic from right to left, both can be written downwards, so that each word can be properly read.

A move can create a new word or add to an existing one, as long as all of the words on the board remain proper words. Adding to a word has to work with all the words around it. 

Blank cards can serve as a space to begin a new words or as a hyphen. Each player can make up to 3 moves in each turn.

Creating a new word in English using a previously placed card that is part of a Hebrew word requires turning over the card to its English side, and vice-versa.

Note

Only when down to 2 cards may a player draw another 12 to have 14 cards again. Players may negotiate and exchange cards by mutual agreement.

Out of cards to draw? Try to finish your existing cards as soon as possible. The sum value of your unused cards will be deducted from your score.

Scoring 

Words in a player's native language are scored by the point value of the cards.

Word in the other language earn the player 3 extra points.

Cards added to a word or words already on the board earns the player the full score of all the words it is part of.

Do you speak additional languages?

If you are fluent in more than one language, you can combine different versions of the game, as long as there is one shared language among all players.

For example, if you speak English, you can mix into one game: English/Hebrew or English/Arabic.
